Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

We have taken the pledge to try to become a recycling school and are working very well towards that aim. We already have a compost bin and each class recycles lunch waste, paper and plastic. We have gained our Silver Award for recycling from Somerset Waste Action.

For the past three years one of our children's posters has been chosen for the Somerset Waste Action Project's calendar. Some children from Class 2 were asked to deliver a presentation. Their theme was reducing waste by making your own healthy snacks for your lunch box. Look at the images below. The bought flapjacks were also individually wrapped and placed in a plastic tray. Just compare the amount of plastic waste produced.
